Presented here are the collected and ongoing musical endeavors of yours truly, Brian Fox.It begins with the Chubby Children in 1982 and then runs the gamut from post-punk, psychedelic rock, punk jazz, improv, noise, punk blues and beyond.I was never interested in doing decidedly commercial work and, unbeknown to many of the musicians I played with, I was more after Pere Ubu, Beefheart and the Velvet Underground than Soundgarden or Pearl Jam but that is the price I paid for encouraging democracy.Unfortunately, my array of recorded music is left in various states of completion, hardly realized or representative, often poorly recorded and executed, and, sadly, moments that can never be recaptured. No one except for me will ever know the original fury of Chubby Children, the amazing potential of Eyeball, what Pygmy Tyrant would sound like had we spent more than a couple of hours on each song, or what the Gaudy Baubles could have accomplished with regular rehearsals. So, here is what remains in all it's tattered glory and when all said and done,  some of what could have been shine s through.Incidentaly,I wrote and sang all these songs and played most of the guitar and synth. Also it should be known that virtually everything on here (vocals and instruments) is a first and only take.

Thank You List
My eternal thanks to Greg Gilmore who has not only inspired and awed me for years but who, in spite of repeated disappointments in me, has continued to play on much of what I have done for two decades.I give thanks to Sid Law who has maintained an unwavering faith in me as a musician/artist.I thank Brad Gordon for his support when I needed it most and for both his stellar writing and wonderfully idiosynchratic guitar playing ( He single-handedly created my love of weird pedals!) I thank Dave Schick for being my favorite musician I have ever played with. I thank Garth Brandenburg for earning the title of guitar legend. I thank Greg Keplinger for just being himself...and an amazing drummer. I thank Steve Marcus and Jeff Larsen for being two of the coolest guys I have ever played with. And lastly, I'd like to thank Bob Groves...but I just can't.

Chubby Children (Seattle pre-grunge)

The band existed in 1982,1983,and 1985.
Regrouped in 1992 to record old material - revamped lineup played a handful of shows in 1993/1994.
Sessions recorded and produced by Phil Ek and Jack Endino at Reciprocal Studio. Chubby Children reunite in 1992 with new bassist Jeff Larsen filling in for the elusive Steve Marcus.Originally set up to record our 1982 repetoire with the addition of two new songs. The one day recording session revealed a decidely more restrained sound.

Chubby Children - Residue 1982 (punk and so much more)

Residue 1982. O yeah - I know it sounds like shit.Unfortunately they are the only surviving recordings of the original band and before we got considerably better.I loved this band..

Chubby Children - Comes Alive (Seattle pre-grunge)

Live at UPS, Tacoma Oct 23, 1993. After the 1992 recording, a new live band line-up was assembled, rehearsed for several months, played a series of shows  and then imploded.Unfortunately, there are no studio recordings of this line-up but it is probably just as well. The last song "Recharge My Battery" is a rehearsal of the lost song.

Eyeball (((big rock)))

Demos recorded over several months in 1994 at Zulu. A collaboration with Sadhappy - Eyeball was a band with all chiefs and no indians that splintered due to differences in direction. Really too bad, as this group had overwhelming firepower and loads of potential.

Beehive (rock)

Recorded at BG Studio 1995. Everybody has a fun jamming band made up of friends - this was ours.We jammed a bunch over several weeks and I really liked something that got captured on these two recordings.

Brian Fox - guitar,vocals
Mr Neutron - stun guitar
Nabob - bass
Bob Groves - drums
Pygmy Tyrant (punk blues)

Demos recorded at Nabob Laboratories 1998. A virtual band built around Brian Fox and Bob Groves after Eyeball imploded. We spent several months experimenting and recording rough demos of a pile of new songs.

Black Fart (punk jazz improv)

Live improvisations recorded over several days in 1998 at Zulu. From a series of live jams by this obscure super group - LOL!! There was talk of carrying this band on but it never happened. This was the first time I enjoyed complete instrumental freedom to improvise.

Drug Czar (prog punk)

Recorded at PRIVATE Radio Studios 1998 by Jack Endino. Drug Czar jammed enough that we got good enough to feel a studio recording was warranted - so Greg and Bob were brought in for availability reasons and sessions were done. They sound pretty good - coming soon after a little more work.

Drug Czar - Smoky Room Sessions(prog punk)

Smoky Room Sessions recorded at Steve Jones Studios 1997. A quickly assembled collaboration with Swirpy. It was mostly to fulfill my dream to play with friend Brad Gordon and celebrate before he moved to Kentucky. It was way psychedelic and way too much fun.

The Gaudy Baubles (noise improv space)

Live sessions recorded in 2001 at Secondline Studio. The first full on conceptual instrumental band conceived to combine elements of PIL,Faust, Fred Frith,Can, mid period King Crimson, and some Sonic Youth. Punk jazz, improve, noise, space....whatever.

Ching Chong Chinaman (Neo-jazz-improv)

Recorded by Scott Colburn at Soundhouse 2004. edited from 4 hours of improv - basically Brian Fox sitting in with Radio Chong Ching.I had always wanted to play with Chalenor and always jump at another crack with Greg, so this was arranged. It didn't turn out like anyone thought it would, but still some fruitful results.
